The Best & Easiest Mother’s Day Gift Idea Ever!
So much of the music I make is celebrating moms, so I LOVE Mother’s Day! It’s a chance to show love and gratitude to all the incredible moms in our lives whose heroic efforts mostly go unnoticed.
One of my favorite Mother’s Day gift ideas (especially for young moms) is simple and affordable. Whether it’s from daycare, church or school, kids will inevitably bring home some kind of card or art project for mom every year. As much as moms treasure these homemade gifts, it’s hard to figure out what to do with them. They often end up in a box mixed up in a messy assortment of rainbow pipe cleaners and shards of painted macaroni noodles. Or they just end up in the trash (don’t tell the kids).
A few years ago I ran across a brilliant idea in Real Simple magazine and I wish I had started sooner!
ARE YOU READY FOR THE BEST, EASIEST, MOST MEANINGFUL MOTHER’S DAY GIFT EVER?!
1) Go buy a scrap book, and 2) have your kids make a card or write a letter to mom, and 3) add it to the scrap book every year (make sure to add the child’s signature and date to each card).
Years from now you’ll have a priceless time-capsule to keep forever. All your children’s cards will be in one beautiful, organized place. You can look back through the pages and see how much your children have grown up, and how much your relationship has grown with them. Every mom will absolutely love it.
If you’re an adult and it would just be weird to send your mom a construction paper tracing of your hand, I have a different idea for you. I wrote a song as a tribute to moms a few years ago and I’d be honored if you’d share it with your mama. It’s called A Mother Like You.
There are also TONS of gifts for moms available at my web store if you’re looking for more ideas!
